1. Learn to understand the concept of the ovulation date of your menstrual cycle.
I found out that my menstrual cycle is not regular, thus my ovulation date is not on the 14th day after each menstrual period. For a regular person with a 28 day cycle, the 14th day after their menstruation is the period wherein ovulation occurs. For an irregular person like me I needed to check my ovulation date using the basal body temperature method and the cervical mucus method or Spinnbarkeit method.
I also found out that the ovulation date is important in timing how to increase your chances of getting pregnant. The ovulation is the time the egg cell is released to the fallopian tube for fertilization. If a sperm is present there, it would be a great chance for fertilization.
2. Next is to determine your Basal Body Temperature.
Doing this is simply checking your temperature everyday, preferably before getting out of bed. A significant increase and plateau of temperature for the next few days indicates your ovulation date. Using this data, time sexual intercourse at least 4-5 days on or before ovulation date. When you do this you will increase the probability of the sperm reaching the egg cell and fertilization can occur.
I know you may have already heard of this tips and that's great. There's more to it though. Overall, the chances of getting pregnant with all the favorable factors is only 25-30% and that's not even half! So, I needed to time and understand every factor that can increase my chances.
